Concept Statement: 

Shinjuku Grand is a Five-Star Boutique Hotel and Spa located in the heart of Tokyo’s 

business district. Our design goal was to create a timeless and sophisticated space that 

would be relevant for years to come. We achieved this aesthetic through combining straight lines and organic curves to form a dynamic atmosphere. Although the hotel is set in an urban space, we wanted to modernize the idea of the Japanese Garden and bring the outdoors inside. We were also inspired by the fluidity of water, and have several water features throughout Shinjuku.  It is our intent that through our design choices and decisions, we have made a comfortable, yet cosmopolitan space.
